This Is Whyનમૂનો

Let’s set the scene for a moment here. Jesus was beginning His ministry on earth, and, in the process, was calling His twelve disciples to follow Him. These disciples—guys like Philip and Nathanael alike—had been waiting for the Savior of the world. Since the time of Moses and the prophets, their ancestors had been talking and writing about the promise of a Savior to come to the world. And now, at last, He was here: Jesus of Nazareth.
When Philip met Jesus, he was eager to accept Jesus’ invitation to follow Him. So eager, in fact, that he just couldn’t keep it to himself. Philip did what all good friends do when they experience something great: They run and tell the people in their lives about it. You can almost feel Philip’s joy in these words. He was excited for himself, yes, but he was also excited for his friend to experience what he just did. This is the same eagerness with which we can approach sharing our faith. It’s the same way we can step out in faith, compelled to share all God’s done for us.
Pray this week that God would give you a heart like Philip—a heart that’s eager to share!

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
