One of the best things about following Jesus is that we don’t have to wonder why Jesus came to the world or what He calls us to do. His life, ministry, and words answer all that and more. While on Earth, Jesus shared His purpose and mission: He, the Son of God and Son of Man, came not to be served but to serve others. But for Jesus, these were more than just words.

He demonstrated this attitude in every aspect of His time on Earth. From taking on human form to spending time with people society looked down on to healing the sick and feeding the hungry to dying on the cross for our sins, Jesus served with humility in all He did.

So today, as a follower of Jesus, consider how to do the same. Who in your life can you serve? Who can you go out of your way to care for or help? Remember, even the simplest and seemingly smallest acts of service can make a difference in someone’s life.
