Ten Minutes With God for Womenಮಾದರಿ

Don't Forget His Love
Be careful that you do not forget the Lord…
Deuteronomy 8:11
Do you ever walk into a room and forget why? How about losing your car in a parking lot? I sure do. It’s comforting to know that most people occasionally forget things. There are apps to help us find our car, our phone, and even our friends. But what about when we forget the Lord and His goodness? What happens then? According to Scripture, when we forget the Lord, our hearts become proud, self-focused, and self-sufficient (see Deuteronomy 8:14). Not a good look, considering God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (see James 4:6).
In light of the possibility of developing a proud heart, it’s probably best to make a practice of remembering God every day. This happens as you remind yourself of who Scripture declares God to be. Look for creative ways to keep the truth of God’s goodness in front of you.
Psalm 103:2-5 breaks it down by giving a list of the things we are told not to forget: “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits…” He forgives all your sins. He heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the pit. He crowns you with love and compassion. He satisfies your desires with good things. He renews your youth.
Most girls grow up playing with princess crowns. But, friend, the crown you are given is not make-believe. God crowns you with His love and with His compassion. A double crown. There is nothing better.
Today I will remember:
- I am crowned with love.
- I am being renewed daily.
- He satisfies me with good things.
Lord, You are healing, redemption, provision, and all things good. Even when things don’t go as I had hoped, You are still good.
