Blessings & Battlefields: Let’s Seek Healing - 4 Habits to Grasp for Healingಮಾದರಿ

Day Two
Admit
Have you heard the phrase, “Be kind to everyone, because everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about"? Humble ourselves. Too many of us have endured adverse childhood experiences like exposure to violence, abuse or neglect, parental separation or mental health risk. These adverse experiences can happen at any age, which can greatly harm our future selves in numerous ways as we travel through life. Many of us need healing.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up,” says James 4:10. Believing God loves us and is with us, humbles us. Knowing He is in heaven, humbles us. Revering and being in awe of Him humbles us. Isaiah 55:9 tells us that, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We are not God. We must admit that we need Him. We need His healing.
Let’s not think of ourselves more highly than we should. One of the best and biggest steps we can take in SEEKING God and moving forward, is taking heart and humbling our hearts to understand that we are broken, in need of a savior and healing.
Jesus is our helper. He also sought God. After Jesus performed the miracle of feeding 5,000 people from just five loaves of bread and two fish, Matthew 14:23 tells us, “After he had dismissed them (the crowds), he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone.”
Jesus went to be alone, pray, and spend time with his father. Maybe after doing such great works, he needed to be refreshed, built up, and needed to rest. Do those needs sound familiar to us? We can admit we need to be refreshed, built up, and to rest, all which can bring us healing.
Again in Mark 1:35 we find after Jesus spent a night healing many who were sick and demon possessed, that “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Even when Jesus was in the moments before his crucifixion, he went away crying out to God that if there could be a different way to accomplish His will other than Jesus’ crucifixion, could that please be done. He didn’t go to pray and ask for help and healing just once, or just twice, but three times. “So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing,” Matthew 26:44.
Psalm 14:1(a) says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.” One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves in life is to wholeheartedly and mindfully submit ourselves to God, completely admitting that we are imperfect, in need of a Savior.
Let’s pray:
Father God, hear our prayer today. We come before you humbled to be in Your presence. You are our mighty warrior, our strength, and our shield. Although we can be strong, we are not perfect. Remind us to quietly find time to pray, to hear from You, and to follow Your lead. We are in constant need of Your help and healing. Soften our hearts and minds to admit that need fully to You and praise You for Your healing in our lives.
In Christ’s name we pray,
Amen.
A Question to Ponder:
How do I admit my need for God in my daily life?
