Jesus’ Trial, Death and Resurrection (As Recorded by John)ಮಾದರಿ

Jesus interrogated
“The high priest then questioned Jesus about His disciples and His teaching.” (John 18:19)
Jesus had been captured at the initiative of the religious leaders. He was, therefore, taken to the high priest for interrogation. But it was a strange kind of questioning. Jesus rightly remarked, “I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret. Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them; they know what I said.” (John 18:20-21)
Remarkably, the high priest not only asked about Jesus' teaching, but also about His disciples. He wanted to know how large Jesus' following was, and he was possibly planning to arrest those followers as well. Peter, one of the disciples watching in the background, was fearful of this possibility. When asked by others present if he was a disciple of Jesus, he adamantly denied it – three times. Shortly before, Peter had claimed, “I will lay down my life for You!” Even then Jesus had warned him, “The rooster will not crow till you have denied Me three times.” Jesus knew that His disciples would abandon Him. He had to endure His interrogation and suffering alone.
Imagine if you had been present there as a friend of Jesus. Would you have also fled, or would you have stood by Him?
