Day 4: A Life Poured Out

Imagine walking through your day with a new perspective — seeing every interaction as an opportunity to serve Jesus himself. What if handing a meal to someone in need, encouraging a struggling friend or simply showing kindness to a stranger had eternal significance?

In Matthew 25:40, Jesus shares a powerful truth:

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Serving Jesus isn’t reserved for the big moments — it’s found in the small, daily choices to love, give and care for others. It’s not about seeking recognition but about reflecting the heart of Christ.

Paul echoes this in Colossians 3:23–24:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Jesus lived this out perfectly. He humbled himself, served without hesitation and loved without limits. Now, he invites us to do the same. Not just once in a while, but as a way of life.

So, how can you make service a daily habit? Maybe it’s checking in on a neighbor, being present for a friend or stepping up in ways that go unnoticed.

May every act of love, no matter how small, be done unto Jesus.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you for showing me what it means to live a life of service. Help me see opportunities to love others as you do. May my actions, no matter how small, be a reflection of your grace and compassion. Use me to bring your light into the lives of those who need it most. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
