Catalyst Conference: A Week Of ChangeExemplo
Day 3
Read Psalm 27.9-14
As we follow God and seek to be change makers, there are times when we feel alone, misunderstood, and attacked. We may be in the process of significant change in our ministries. We’re convinced that God is leading us in a specific direction, but we’re getting pushback. It just doesn’t seem like it should be this way.
Somehow, we’ve got to see our adversity and adversaries in light of Almighty God and His unchanging character.
Psalm 27 begins with the answer to fear. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; I will fear no one. The LORD protects me from all danger; I will never be afraid.”
The psalmist remembers that God is so much greater than our enemies and circumstances. God is with us and protects us. That’s the truth about God and His character.
As Psalm 27 continues, the writer eventually allows us to see his thought process. He wants to trust God, but it’s hard. In order to get there, the psalmist shares his fear with the Father. It’s in this process that the psalmist gets to the point of trust. He knows he will see the goodness of God. He knows that God is trustworthy. That informs his perspective on his enemies.
That informs our leadership.
As God’s change makers, let’s trust Him. Let’s rely on His power and wisdom. Let’s face our fears knowing that He is with us and we can trust Him.
Prayer
You know the things that overwhelm me. I want to be overwhelmed by Your presence. You are so much greater than any person or circumstance. I want to trust You and give You the anxiety and fear in my life. I don’t want fear or people or circumstances to distract me from what is true about You. You are the source of truth and I want Your Holy Scriptures to shape my thinking. I give you the freedom to change me so that I can be the change maker You want me to be. Amen.
Going Deeper
What does it look like for you to trust God with a person or situation that overwhelms you?
Tomorrow, we’ll begin to focus on external change. We’ll discover how God wants us to be bold change makers.

Sobre este plano
We’re challenging leaders who love the Church to break the boundaries of an ordinary existence and find the courage to embrace and radiate bold change. Let’s dig into the Holy Scriptures with this seven-day reading plan developed with our friends at American Bible Society. We’ll focus on internal change and external change. We’ll align ourselves with the ultimate change maker and the bold change God has for us.
