Kingdom Strengths—Disciple Makers Series #15Exemplo
Another prophet without honor: John the Baptist
Thoughts on the message
Would this happen if God gave us everything we asked for? Would we choose something for ourselves that causes destruction to others? Would we be so selfish that we would not care what happened to others? Here a godly man dies—because he speaks truth and people did not like it. Here a godly man dies—because someone wants to get rid of him and will do extreme things.
Be careful. No one thinks that they would do this kind of action—still it happens a lot. God knows the consequences of our hearts' desires, therefore let Him make the decisions that we cannot fully understand. It may be hard to accept, but God makes good decisions—and we can make poor decisions. Especially when it comes to things that touch us at an emotional level.
Prayer
Father, I ask myself this question: Would I wish for the destruction of someone who has deeply offended me? I know I could. I know that I have said it sometimes. It scares me how easily this story could be about me—if I had the power to implement it. Thank You for not giving me this kind of authority. Thank You for making me just trust You. Thank You for every situation that I find myself struggling with—and make all of them bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
