Jesus & Issues Everyone Faces - Disciple Makers Series #18Exemplo
Compassion for the Lost - and the Wayward
Thoughts on the message
Take children [physically and spiritually] and their needs seriously – God does.
Take dealing with sinful practices seriously.
God’s presence is powerful. He allows the angels that guard children to have direct access to Him – to protect the little ones. He has a heart for children because they are so vulnerable and accepting. He seeks them. He calls to them and draws them to Himself.
Also, He is in the midst of people trying to deal with problems – bringing correction or releasing forgiveness. We need His heart for these things as well as having His authority to deal with them. Do not be afraid to deal with issues that require discipline. However, be careful. God requires that we have His heart in this area. Take time to pray, take time to wait on God so that we not only know what to do but when to do it. God is often a lot more patient with people than we are – just remember Judas.
Prayer
Father, I find it difficult to see Your heart in the middle of difficult situations. I get my emotions, my timeline, my perspective into the situation; instead I need Yours. Give me Your heart for the people, the situations and the solution and its timing. Without Your perspective, I will get it all messed up – and not have Your presence or authority to deal with it correctly. Give me this I pray, in Jesus’ name Amen.

Matthew writes to God’s people and walks them on a journey that will take them from where they are to be Disciple Makers. This is 18 of 27 devotional plans walking us through the book of Matthew. Jesus now works through a series of issues over the next few chapters. This week Jesus comes down from the mount of Transfiguration – and faces many different issues.
