The Tent Of MeetingExemplo

The Tent Of Meeting

Dia 5 de 7

After asking God to confirm that He would be with him, Moses asked God to show him His glory.

In the Bible, the word used to speak of God’s glory is also used many times when speaking of His goodness. God’s glory and God’s goodness go hand-in-hand.

We are singing a song in church at the moment that’s inspired from Psalm 23: “Surely love and mercy / Your peace and kindness / Will follow me / Will follow me”. I don’t believe trials necessarily come from God (nor from the devil, for that matter!), but I do believe that God can use them to grow our character and strengthen our faith.

Maybe you don’t feel like you’re seeing the fruit you would love to see and that what you are doing no longer has any purpose or value. Sometimes as artisans, we can relate to the woman who poured out a perfume of great worth at Jesus’ feet and it seems like everyone around us can’t appreciate or understand the usefulness and value of our sacrifice.

But don’t forget that God calls upon artisans. Don’t forget that our creativity comes from Him. And never forget that we are part of His plan for the salvation of humanity.

I love the covenant that God makes with His people in Exodus 34:10-12. He tells His people that if they walk in His ways, He will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth.

Imagine if our local churches – these Tents of Meeting that we help shape week after week – were places where the glory and the goodness of God were visible for all of humanity. Imagine if God was doing miracles in our midst like we have never seen anywhere else on earth.

I can’t imagine being part of anything more wonderful than that.

I love this phrase we have plastered across all the spaces where our team gathers for pre-service prayer: “Can you believe we get to do this?”

Lord, thank You for the privilege I get to serve You with the gifts and talents You have entrusted me with.

Today’s question: What would our churches look like if we all had an unquenchable thirst to see God’s glory manifested in our midst?

The Tent Of Meeting

From the beginning of time, God has called upon artists to make His presence known on the earth. In the book of Exodus, we can read the story of Bezalel, the artisan who God chose to lead the building of the Tent of Meeting. It is said that this was the place that God would speak to Moses, “as one speaks to a friend”. This reading plan is for all those who serve their local church as part of the creative team and for all those who would like to know more about how God is calling us to use our creativity for His glory.
