Knowing God’s HeartExemplo
Know God
Boast in the Lord that you know who He is and that you know His heart.
In Jeremiah 9: 23 & 24, The Lord speaks through the prophet Jeremiah saying “Let not the wise man glory in His wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in His might, nor let the rich man glory in His riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that He understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth, for in these I delight,”.
Scripture distinctly states that we must not boast in the things we possess such as our strength, wisdom and riches, rather boast only in the fact that we understand and know Him.
It is so paramount that our focus in living our daily lives, be on celebrating our understanding and knowledge of the Lord and knowing the very heart of God. The latter refers to knowing Him intimately, being in sync with Him, knowing His heartbeat and knowing what delights Him the most. We need to make this our highest pursuit in life far above any other thing.
Our ultimate goal of studying the Scriptures, the history, the culture, the archaeology, the hermeneutics, our hearing and understanding of expository preaching and great exegesis of the Word must ultimately lead us to understanding and knowing God better. If all of our efforts causes us to not Know Him more intimately then we have failed miserably in our quest to Know God. Therefore, have one objective in mind and that is to accumulate all knowledge in God’s word with the sole intention of knowing and understanding Him and his heart.
Father, we pray that you would draw us closer to you and help us Lord to pursue understanding and knowing you, knowing your heart to knowing you for who you really are and that that will become the thing we boast about and that will become our confidence and that will become the reason for our joy and celebration; we understand and know who God is. Help us Father we pray. In Jesus name, Amen.
