Ready. Set. Go! Share the Gospel!Exemplo
PRACTICAL LOGISTICS
Read today's scripture passages, then read and watch below.
When the military trains its special forces, it does so individually because each person is different, with unique strengths and weaknesses. They must be equipped to stand firm and fight in all circumstances. The Lord trains His people in a similar fashion. In perfect love, He knows each one of us on an individual basis and trains us according to the way He has made us. He meets us right where we are in our walk with Him and with our present gifts and abilities, but He doesn’t leave us there. He equips us to be the warrior and ambassador that He has called us to be.
The following steps are proven and effective for preparing to be gospel ready, according to each person’s gifting, circumstances, and story.
STEP 1: Pray regularly for who, what, when, where, why, and how to share the gospel.
First, look at where the Lord has placed you. Whom has God placed in your life? Make a list.
Second, pray through your list. Ask the Lord to give you a heart for Him and for those around you. Watch God open your eyes and heart.
STEP 2: Take initiative. God takes initiative with us. We reflect His image, so we take the initiative in people’s lives by prompting them to think about God. This must be something intentional and designed to turn the conversation toward Him and then specifically to Jesus and the gospel.
Prepare segues beforehand. Ask questions that express interest in the other person and that will help lead the conversation to the gospel.
STEP 3: Consider how others may respond as you initiate conversations with them.
STEP 4: Think through your response. How has the Lord prompted you to respond in return?
STEP 5: Be ready with an answer. Prepare to tell the story of how the gospel transformed your life—in three sentences or less. Give yourself a deadline and then spend a few minutes each day praying and seeking the Lord’s wisdom. When you are finished, you will have three sentences to proclaim the power, the glory, and the majesty of Jesus as your Lord and Savior!
Finally, read and pray through Romans 1-4, which contains one of the most complete presentations of the gospel in all of Scripture, and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, which contains a succinct summary of the gospel.
