Declutter Now! 30 Day DevotionalExemplo
Protecting Our Precious
Parents are charged with an abundance of critically important tasks, but perhaps none as significant as protecting their precious children. Our babies have no ability to do this and it is 100% entirely up to us, as parents, to make sure it happens. Children must be protected from all unsafe environments, and this includes not only those presenting physical hazards, but emotional dangers as well.
Words used should be kind, uplifting, and filled with grace and compassion. Criticism is sometimes necessary, but when spoken constructively and with love, it will help not hurt.
Babies never fix relationships or situations and they shouldn’t be born with a job waiting for them.
The home environment should be filled with warmth and love, and God’s presence. Problems are a part of life, but our little cherubs should be shielded from harm, and this includes adult discussions and situations.
Eventually your children will be out in the world without your protection, and chances are ‘friends’, co-workers, teachers, and coaches, not to mention strangers, will inflict incredibly harsh and unfair pain. It’s not only comforting for your child to know they have a safe haven at home, but it’s also necessary so they can distinguish what’s safe from what isn’t. The healthy, loving experience you provide will equip them for the rest of their lives. Yes, God will always be with your children, but that doesn’t exempt you from doing your part as well.
As we discussed yesterday, God is our parent and we would do well as parents to follow his lead. Keep this in mind as you read today’s scripture. Consider YOURSELF as the ‘Father’ in the verses and they will quickly become the best parent’s manual you’ve ever read!
What will you declutter? Bad parenting, hurtful behavior, irresponsibility, recklessness with your children’s well-being, and failing to equip your kids with care and love they deserve and need.
