Declutter Now! 30 Day DevotionalExemplo
Making Prayer a Priority
When you were younger and vying for your parent’s attention, did they sometimes get annoyed? Even jokingly? Did you get in trouble by asking the same question, over and over again? I remember my mom once asking me, “Do you HAVE to tell me every single thought that goes through your mind?” I was a bit of a talker!
Consider that God WANTS you to come to him, over and over again. He desires to hear all you have to say, all day long. He longs for your questions, concerns, heartbreaks, and triumphs. He wants it ALL and he never tires of hearing from you.
Imagine that?
Talk about patience!
You can approach God with full confidence that he will never, ever turn you away. He won’t get annoyed and you won’t be in trouble! It’s an offer you shouldn’t pass up, and all you have to do to receive his attention is talk to him. Seems ironic, doesn’t it?
A consistent, deep, genuine prayer life is essential in getting and staying close to God. It’s your one-on-one time with your Father, and you don’t even have to share. He’s all yours! It’s your opportunity to build a relationship with God, seek guidance and direction, offer praises and thanksgiving, ask for forgiveness of sin, and shower your Father with love and devotion. Make prayer a priority. Tell him how much you need and appreciate him, and allow him to be Lord of your life.
Make an effort to carve out daily time to fellowship with God and your return will be tenfold.
What will you declutter? A distant relationship between you and your Father, feelings of loneliness and despair, unanswered prayers, being ungrateful, and the detrimental effects of sin.
