FEARLESS - Boldly Pursuing Jesus And His MissionExemplo
On the other side of obedience is blessing.
As Abraham is finishing his worship on the mountain with his son, Isaac, where God provided a ram for worship rather than his son, the messenger of the Lord reiterates the promise given to Abraham that he must know by heart: His descendants would be numerous, and through their descendants all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
When we think about inheriting God’s blessings, we think that we’re the ones that are going to experience the blessing, but sometimes God’s blessings in our lives will overflow to others – for today and for tomorrow.
For Abraham, his promise of blessing the nations would take place near that very same mountain. One of Abraham’s descendants would be born of a carpenter and a virgin teenager. He would lead a sinless life, proclaim a new Kingdom and a new Promise that God would give to all the nations, then He would proceed near the same mountain to be crucified. Abraham was given a substitution for his son from God. But Jesus would one day become the substitute for the world.
One day, through Jesus Christ- this descendent of Abraham- the promise would be fulfilled as all nations are blessed and can now receive the gift of salvation. On the other side of Jesus’ obedience was a blessing for all the nations. On the other side of your obedience to God could be a blessing, not only for yourself, but for someone else.
How can you be a blessing to someone else today?

God has given His people a purpose: to connect everyone to Jesus and his mission. In order to pursue the mission of Jesus, we cannot have a faith that is timid or cowardly. As we spend time looking at the life of Abraham, a man of courageous faith and sacrificial obedience, we will be challenged to be FEARLESS for the mission of Jesus.
