Devotional: An Immutable Father
God never changes. He has no need to change because He is perfect. We, on the other hand, are always changing and can trust in our Father who remains unchanged (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8, James 1:17). The Lord is a faithful Father (1 Thessalonians 5:24, Psalm 36:5). God never forgets, never fails, never changes His Word and will never go back on His promises. We can trust Him and rely on Him completely (Psalm 37:3).
Testimony:
I remember how my wife came to me before the birth of our third child. She had discovered her journal in which she had written down a prophecy years before we got married. It said: You shall have children and their names will be important: Elise, Naomi and Joshua. It was amazing because these were the names we had given our three children years later. She completely forgot about this prophecy, but God brought it to pass! God really knows what He is doing.
Reflective questions:
- What do you think it means to “feed on His faithfulness”?
- What do you think are the spiritual gifts God has given you? (According to 1 Corinthians 12)
- Read Romans 12:6-8. Which of these gifts do you think the Father has given to you?
