REJECT EVERY KIND OF EVIL

PRAY:  Jesus, I pray in Your name, to reject every kind of evil in my life. I want to love people but I want to see where the enemy is working and reject His evil deeds and avoid his fiery darts. Please give me wisdom to see evil for what it is and the discernment to know when to turn away and flee and when to stand up against it. Help me to fight the spiritual battles, without fear, in Your name. Thank You for protecting me against evil and showing me how to reject it, but helping me to not fear it so I can stand strong against the spirits and principalities in the heavenly realms. Amen

REFLECT:  "Reject every kind of evil." That's a powerful statement, but what does it really mean?. Does it mean to flee every time we approach evil? Or do we reject people who are sinning? In reading the fuller context of the verse, it tells us not to quench the Spirit, not to treat prophecies with contempt, but to test everything against the scriptures. God wants us to hold on to what is good and to reject every kind of evil. That's a wide and far reaching command, which requires us to study the scriptures, understand the spiritual battle between good and evil, and then reject evil as a godly response, not an emotional reaction.

ACT:  Reread all of I Thessalonians 5 and prayerfully study how to wisely understand evil. See that it's not rejecting people, but it is rejecting the devil's lies that come out of people. False prophets are not to be rejected, but what they say is to be rejected. So, as you read the chapter, ask God to teach you how to discern evil so that you can reject the work of the devil and not reject the people whom the enemy is using, for God loves them and they need His love. Maybe you'll want to start memorizing scripture by memorizing these five words from I Thessalonians 5:22: "Reject every kind of evil."
