Perfectly You DevotionalExemplo
Day 6 - A New Church and Assignment
There was a lot of potential on the west side of Oahu, and it was a great opportunity for a church to grow. After fasting and praying and talking about it, Mike and I both agreed that becoming the senior pastors of what was once Hope Chapel West Oahu was something God wanted us to do. We went back to our pastor and told him that we would accept the Lord’s call to lead the church. So in 2001, the Lord called Mike and I to re-plant Hope Chapel West Oahu. I believe God had been preparing us for this from the first day we were planted at Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay, being discipled by our own senior pastor.
Have you ever felt that God was calling you to do something but knew it would bring about a big change in your life? New assignments from God can make us uncomfortable because we like the familiar things in life. Unfortunately, when we become too comfortable, we tend to grow complacent, and complacency can limit new vision for your life and ministry. Regardless of how apprehensive you may feel, when God wants you to accept a call to do something different, you can be certain that He will work it all out for you.
In Matthew 19:26 we read that “All things are possible with God, if you believe.” We must realize that God knows the plans He has for us, but we often do not know just how big those plans are. When God calls us to do something, we must never stop pursuing the call even when it does not unfold according to our timing. That is the time that we need to be persistent without settling.
If you are wondering whether or not you are meant to do more and make an impact with the gifts and talents God has given you, never underestimate the power of God and what He can do for His children! Don’t be afraid to believe that God made you for more and that He is preparing you for more than you could ever expect.
