Strategic Young People From The BibleExemplo
Courage To Stand And Take A Risk Like Esther
The book of Esther gives us an example of a young woman who literally changed her world by standing alone for God. Esther is the name given to her in Persia which means "star", and she lived up to her name. Esther lived in an historically dark time. Following the Persian Empire's destruction of Babylon, many Jews had been displaced into Persia. Oddly, it is the only book in the sixty-six books of the Bible where God is not named. He’s absolutely invisible, yet He is at work! Charles Swindoll comments, “God’s presence is not as intriguing as His absence. His voice is not as eloquent as His silence”.
Unwittingly victimized by an unbearable situation, Esther stepped up and determined, by God’s grace, to make a difference. The remarkable courage and risk she was able to take is simply breathtaking. Esther makes a daring statement, “If I have to perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:16). God provided Esther with special access to an ungodly king so that she could divert her generation from impending destruction. This simple Jewish maiden made the commitment to trust God and allow Him to use her in His divine plan to rescue the Jewish nation. Esther decided not to remain silent and see her people perish. (Esther 4:14)
The book of Esther beautifully illustrates how God transforms seemingly "average" people into glorious vessels that He can use to penetrate dark and sinful times. What is your destiny? Have you sensed God's call to stand against the deplorable conditions that plague our society today? Divorce, pornography, abortion, child abuse, and other family tragedies have reached epidemic proportions.
God has made provision to help you stand alone in crises and arise victoriously. Just as God enabled Esther to become a woman of destiny and thwart Haman's plot against the Jews, God will enable you to halt Satan's attempts to destroy your family and nation. God is looking for bold young people to stand up and takes risk in their area of influence and establish His kingdom on Earth. You are not born to just survive, you are destined to make a difference. Are you ready to make a difference?
