Step 2 - One!Prayer

"Father, Forgive them..." Luke 23:34 AMP

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son." John 3:16 NIV

God's Mercy and God's Grace forgive and save.

One!Prayer

STEP 2 - A three-in-one prayer for your One!Name.

God inspires prayer, He wills and acts in us according to His good pleasure. He invites you whom He has chosen to pray (Luke 18:1) and to pray constantly about everything. And, in particular, to pray for those who have strayed away and are lost. God, the Holy Spirit, helps us to pray and helps our weakness in prayer by teaching us what to pray for in line with God's present will. Only the Spirit of God knows the mind of God (1 Corinthians 2:11), and so He is the only one who can teach you to pray in accordance with His will.

Also, the Spirit knows the circumstances and mind of the lost soul and is able to speak to the heart the conviction of sin needed to cause repentance (Luke 15:17). Then the Spirit inspires faith for repentance and forgiveness from the Father (Romans 12:3 & Luke 15:18).

We love by giving! God so loved the world, He gave! In this step, you will give by praying! When we learn how to allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us for the lost we will achieve God-sized results. In this step, you will sow seeds of life by praying to God for your One!Name to come into a living relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

I urge you to pray in line with God's Word to God who desires that all men might be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).

We ask God, who has provided for man’s salvation through grace, that it is received through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9).

While grace is free (it’s a gift from God), it still needs to be accepted. You must stand in the gap and ask God in prayer to shower His gift of grace upon our One!Name. Jesus teaches us to ask (in Matthew 7:7), He says, "Ask and you will receive, keep knocking and the door will be opened, keep seeking and you will find",  and to be both confident and consistent in approaching God to ask for mercy and grace.

What to ask God to do for One!Name.

There are three focal areas you should ask God to touch in the life of One!Name.

1. Ask for mercy and grace for One!Name.

"Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrew 4:16

2. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict of sin.

"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me." John 16:8-9

"I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.'" Luke 15:18

3. Ask for a repentant heart and the Spirit to prompt a return to God the Father.

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you." Luke 15:17-187

Practical prayer must be deliberate, so make quality time to pray and set aside 10-15 minutes each day over the next  week to commit One!Name into God's gracious hands.

Practical prayer will be desperate. David often cried out to God in deep anguish because it was a matter of life and death. Your prayers for One!Name may be the difference between whether he/she comes to life in Jesus Christ or remains in darkness and spiritual death. So pray desperately, someone’s life actually depends on it.

Pray consistently that all obstacles to One!Name accepting Jesus as Savior will be removed.

Then you will be ready for the One!Invite step.
