Swift to Hear and Slow to SpeakExemplo
Be Swift to Hear and Slow to Speak
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” James 1:19 KJV
Before you speak, choose to listen to the heart of the matter. Before you abruptly make a move, choose to hear all the facts. Before you proceed to execute, choose to listen to wise counsel. Before you pursue, pray and seek God for His instruction.
Be swift to hear God’s voice. Be swift to hear God’s instruction. Be swift to hear God’s wisdom. Be swift to hear God’s counsel. Be swift to hear, and slow to speak. Don’t speak prematurely — seek and submit to God.
James 1:19 AMPC declares, “Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.” Study to become a ready listener.
Choose to listen to your brother or your sister. Be slow to take offense. Listen to the matter at hand before you abruptly respond. Let your heart and ears become ready to hear the heart of the matter. Listen before speaking. Choose to seek peace instead of becoming angry.
Choose to seek God and surrender to His way of doing things instead of becoming offended. Don’t stay stuck in the bondage of the past. Don’t stay stuck in the bondage of the offense. “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.” James 1:19 NLT
