Everyday Discipling

Dia 1 de 5

1. Personal Godliness. To be a disciple who makes disciples, the first step, of course, is living as a disciple—coming to the Father through His Son, Jesus, heeding Jesus’ call to “follow Me,” and not looking back!

Some hear Jesus’ invitation to follow in the midst of their everyday activities, as the tax-collector Matthew did while he was working and heeded Jesus’ invitation to “follow Me” (Matthew 9:9–13, Mark 2:13–17 and Luke 5:27–28). Others are actively seeking, such as the Roman army officer Cornelius, who was known as “a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God” (Acts 10:2). Both were “all in” from the start and sought with all their hearts to serve God. Is that you?

“Father God, as the apostle John reminds me (John 3:16), You loved the world so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to set us free from all sin—to free me from my sin and to serve You. Help me to grow as a follower of Jesus who is committed to Your Word, prayer, and fully following Jesus. May I live a life of personal godliness and be used of You to help others do the same.”
