Upset the World Exemplo
Day 3
Upsetters Disturb the Piece
“Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ” (Ephesians 5:2).
God calls us to disturb the piece. No, that’s not a typo. I’m not talking about disturbing the peace and throwing a party on your front lawn at night. I’m talking about disturbing the piece of people’s lives that isn’t aligned with God’s truth.
Have you ever believed one thing, but then God spoke you about it and you changed your belief? Your piece was disturbed. What you thought was right turned out to be based on a lie from the enemy, and once you learned the truth, you decided to believe and live differently. That’s how God disturbs our piece.
If you’re a believer, then Jesus has disturbed the piece of your life called sin. No longer are you a captive to your old nature. You are a new person! (2 Corinthians 5:17). And the more you become like Jesus, the more being an upsetter becomes part of your nature.
There are times when Jesus initiates the disturbing of someone’s piece. He went out of His way to disturb the Samaritan woman’s piece of insecurity at the well (John 4:1–42). And Jesus disturbed my piece when He welcomed me as His child while I still struggled with an addiction to pornography. His unconditional acceptance turned my world upside down.
Sometimes we can disturb someone’s piece just by showing we care. In Matthew 8:14–15, Jesus went to Peter’s house and found Peter’s mother-in-law sick with a high fever. He touched her hand, and she was healed completely. Jesus disturbed her piece of sickness.
When Jesus wasn’t healing people or casting out demons, He went around doing good (Acts 10:38). Sometimes just doing kind things for people upsets their piece! It doesn’t have to be a big religious ordeal where we pray an impressive prayer. You could take a sick friend some soup and say, “Hey, I heard you weren’t feeling well. Can I pray for you?” If he says yes, just say, “Lord, I know You care for my friend. Please give him complete health. Amen.” And then you kindly walk away because your friend feels awkward standing at the door in his pajamas with his hair a mess.
If we do good, the Holy Spirit will bring people to Jesus. Ask the Lord, “Whose piece do you want me to disturb today?”
Sobre este plano
What makes a person want to have a relationship with God? What makes a believer look and act differently? The answer is simple: they’ve been upset! In this 4-day plan based on his book, Upset the World, Pastor Tim Ross teaches how you can upset the world with the message, love, and hope of Jesus Christ.
