[#Life] MidlifeExemplo
Do Not Stop Now
Many times in life when we get older and we get certain wisdom in some areas of life, we choose to step down and check out. We let the younger generation step in and take charge. Even though that is good, it is not always all we can do. We need to be able to take that wisdom and to know there is something greater; God wants us to pour that back. There are things that He wants us to be a part of. There are blessings that come with the years. There is a blessing that comes with that wisdom. There is a blessing that comes with journeying through life and some of the aches and pains that we are able to share with the other generations to help them not to make the same mistakes. We do not have to throw in the towel just yet.
Paul tells us in the Bible to not stop now because there is more to come. There is more that God wants to do with us. There is more that He wants to have us walk through. There is something greater. Do not stop now. What happens in midlife is that we want to stop. Our culture has shifted from labor to leisure. Work has become a curse instead of a calling. We want to stop and figure out the earliest point we could possibly retire, and we could get out of this and just get to the mountains and get to the beach and just sit back and not have to do anything anymore because we have been doing it for so long, and we are tired of it.
God is saying to us, “Do not stop. There is more to come.” We can retire, and we can go on long vacations, but let’s not lose sight of the impact that we have and what God can do through us. Everything that we went through in life has a meaning and God wants to use it to bless younger generations. However, there is so much more in store for us. God has something for you and something for me—a future that God has for all ages, to be able to say, “I want you to focus in on the more of what God can do in your life.” Do not worry about the past. Press on to the things that are in the future. There is a future of hope and blessings waiting for us.
