Love God Greatly: Know Love: A Study on 1, 2, 3 JohnExemplo
Confession acknowledges that we have sinned, that we are not perfect or pure, and that we need help. There is not a day or even an hour that goes where we don’t sin. Our motives are not always pure, our thoughts are not always kind, our judgements are not always right, our words and tone of voice are not always gracious, and our actions are not always pleasing in the sight of God. We need to be cleansed, we need to be set back on the right path, and we need to be rescued.
Thankfully, we belong to a good God who is gracious, patient, and most importantly, forgiving. If we come to Him with our sins He will forgive us. He will take that burden and throw it into the deepest sea. Then, He extends help. He gives us His Word so we can know how to live. He gives us power so we can resist sin. He gives us wisdom so we can discern what is good and what is not. He gives us the Holy Spirit who teaches, corrects, intercedes, and comforts.
Lord, help me to come to You honestly, laying all of my sins and troubles before You because I know that You have promised to forgive and help me. Amen.

The Apostle John had one clear message in his letters: Love one another. In the letters of 1, 2, and 3 John, the beloved disciple encouraged followers of Christ to love God by following His commands, and to love and honor fellow believers. John’s message is incredibly relevant to us today, offering insight to us as we seek to live like Jesus lived and love like Jesus loved.
