The Greatest Of TheseExemplo
LOVING YOURSELF
How full is your love tank?
When our children were growing up, we would ask them ‘How full is your love tank’?
Our youngest daughter would always respond with a smile and indicate about half, because she knew that would always result in hugs, songs, treats, and showers of affection in our attempts to fill up her love tank.
We need to ask ourselves daily – how full is MY love tank? How much do I love myself? To love others well, we must first love ourselves.
The world around us may define love or value by Instagram likes or material possessions but when we grab a hold of God’s love and its reality in our lives it changes how we see the world.
Our capacity to love is significantly reduced when we don’t love who we are.
When I’m secure about who I am, I’m not worried about who you are, I don't spend time comparing myself to you. When I am happy in my skin, I celebrate yours. When I love myself, I come with positive self-worth and I live from a security found in Jesus.
As you read the key scriptures today ask yourself some of these questions:
What would God say to me if He were standing here?
How do I receive a compliment?
If I was asked what I felt I deserved in life, what would my response be?
What do I believe about myself – my future, my destiny?
When was the last time I invested money in myself or treated myself?
Am I comfortable in my own skin? How often do I compare myself to others?
The more you love who you are the more you will be able to love the people around you. When I love ME, I can show love to YOU. Let the love of God flow to you and through you today.
