Uncommen: Don't Call It a ComebackExemplo
The Coming Of The King Of Kings
The Second Coming is the ultimate comeback story.
The book of Revelation can be hard to understand and scary to visualize. But if you are a believer, the second coming should be an event you are looking forward to in the end. It's when Jesus comes back to collect His followers.
I was traveling with someone, and we were talking about the Bible and scripture. I mentioned the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus in passing. When I stopped speaking, there was this long silence. My friend had this confused look on their face like I was speaking a different language. The person asked me what the Rapture was. I explained that while the word is not found in scripture, Paul describes it in 1 Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 15:52 — "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
The person then asked about the second coming of Jesus. It was my turn to have a confused look on my face. How in the world can a believer who reads their Bible not have heard of the second coming of Jesus. Unless...this person doesn't read their Bible.
If you are not familiar with the concept, I would highly recommend you go read about it. There may be some fear in this if you are an unbeliever, but if you are a follower of Christ, there is joy.
Good reading material
- 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
- Acts 1:10-11
- Hebrews 9:28
- Matthew 24:42-44
- John 5:28-29
- Titus 2:11-13
- James 5:7
This whole series was written to have us put God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit in the proper perspective. The Godhead has unimaginable power, and that power has been used for our benefit. To save us from sin, to gather us at the second coming, and to judge unbelievers.
I'd say, "don't call it a comeback," but in this case, you can.
Uncommen questions:
Are you ready for the second coming of Jesus?
Do you need to reexamine your faith?
Uncommen Challenge:
I challenge you to spend some time getting right with God before the second coming of Jesus. Once the trumpet sounds, it's going to be too late.

Sobre este plano
After the year that we've had in 2020, some may think things are out of control and beyond repair. Which, in fact, is 100% incorrect. The same God who created the heavens and earth is still in control, just as He was in the beginning. Are things going the way we intended? No. Are things going the way God intended? Yes!
