Living a Happy Life: A 7-Day Devotional for Parents About Living From Acceptance—Not for AcceptanceExemplo
Day Seven: Believing in Jesus
In the children’s book The Quokkas, The Snails, and the Land of Happiness, the Quokkas shared with the Snails the good news that their sticker charts could be forever filled. The Snails went home with a big decision to make: would they continue to live as they were living (for approval), or choose something better?
Although Christ has done all the work to secure our forgiveness, we must place our faith in Him to receive His forgiveness. To become His son or daughter, each person must believe in Him.
Believing in Him is not the same thing as believing about Him. Believing about Him is knowing some facts about Jesus. Someone may know some facts about Lebron James or Justin Bieber, but that does not mean the person believes in Lebron or Justin or has a personal relationship with them.
Believing in Jesus is to trust Him for forgiveness and eternal life. The moment one believes in Jesus is the moment a person begins an eternal relationship with Jesus.
Believing in Jesus is to place your faith in Christ as the Lord and leader of your life. And who better to lead your life than Jesus? He is a much better leader than we are!
If you or your child is ready to believe in Jesus, then tell a Christian you trust and respect. Don’t keep this news to yourself. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead! This is how you enter His kingdom and receive His forgiveness.

Kids feel more pressure now than ever before, feeling the constant need to accomplish and prove themselves. Anxiety is hitting kids at very young ages, and we want to help parents embed this biblical truth in their hearts: Christ’s love and acceptance allow us to live a life of joy and freedom. This devotional is based on the kids book, The Quokkas, the Snails, and the Land of Happiness.
