God’s Will, God's Way for Your Business: A Culture of Caring & Sharing

Dia 1 de 3

Jesus’ death and resurrection were not his only mission for coming as God in human form to earth. He also came at a very specific point in time, with a clear determination to rid the marketplace of the obscene culture of greed, corruption, and self-centeredness.

Jesus’ objective was to teach people how to live God’s way by following the principles of caring and sharing. By doing so, this would replace the human misery (which was so evident at the time) with human flourishing. In other words, this was how to bring the kingdom of God into the marketplace.

So, what does this look like?

In Matthew 25, Jesus explains an end times prophecy to the disciples. This passage is referred to as ‘The Final Judgement’ whereby the Lord will one day separate all people, like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

In this scripture, the sheep nations refer to the people who took care of the hungry, homeless, sick, and imprisoned. Whereas the goat nations refer to those who did nothing to help people in need.

This is only one of many more scriptures in both the Old and New Testament that refer to our responsibility to do something about the human suffering which exists in the world. Additionally, it lays out very clearly what we should be doing in terms of prospering the poor, the widows, the orphans, the strangers, the wrongly imprisoned, and so on.
