Life On Mission

Dia 20 de 30

A fundamental change needs to happen in the way that we see our time and resources. It is often “our” time and “our” resources. The fact of the matter is that everything we have and every breath we breathe is from God. They aren’t “ours” they are “His.” Instead of thinking of your time as yours, realize that it is His. The question then changes from “How should I spend my time and money; to “God, how should I spend your time and money?”

There should be something very different about us as God’s people. In a world that is largely greedy and stingy, we get to be generous. This is a very inviting attribute of the family of God.

As your mind is renewed, you’ll start to see and think of things differently. One aspect of your relationship with God that might have been overlooked is how you spend your time and money. As God changes the way you think about these things, he will also empower you to live differently.

If you don’t have a plan for generosity there is a good chance you’ll fall back into your old patterns. If you desire to lose weight, you need to have a plan. In the same way, you need a plan for how you spend your finances and time. Answer these questions to help your plan unfold.

1. How can I be more generous with my finances?
2. How can I use my time and energy better?
3. What expenses could I cut back on in order to be more generous?
4. What things take up my time that aren’t necessarily productive or helpful?
5. How would my life be different if I were more generous?

Ask God to help you to make new priorities and live out of a new set of values. Ask God to help you take the bold steps necessary to be more generous and more aware to the needs of others.
