Little Foxes: Charisma Is Easy - Character Must Be Cultivated.Exemplo
How could a bridge collapse in Florida and kill 6 people? How could this happen in this modern age of engineering ingenuity and technology? Yet in 2018, a section of the FIU pedestrian bridge collapsed.
The shocking part? An engineer had flagged micro-cracking in the bridge just 2 days before the tragic collapse.
The glamour of the bridge counted for nothing when the hidden structure lacked integrity.
It’s a perfect picture of how we often ignore the structure in our own lives, don’t you think?
We can construct success and wealth and achievements and accolades – but it is our integrity that holds everything up. When micro-cracks form, and we don’t take them seriously, it can result in major breakdowns.
It’s kind of embedded in our human nature – we are not instinctively drawn to the hidden and hard work of building a structure in our lives that will uphold us.
It brings me to an important question: how do you keep little foxes out? A life of integrity builds a fence of protection that keeps little foxes out.
Ask yourself these questions:
· Will I keep my word even if it causes a problem for me?
· Will I lie about that money to get ahead?
· Will I conduct my business with ethics and principle?
· Will I honour my wedding vows?
· Will I show up to commitments I have made?
· Can people count on me to do what I say I am going to do?
Big idea:
Be pre-emptive – solve problems early.
Don’t wait for the bridge to collapse. Deal with the micro-cracks.
Today’s Crucial Question:
What is the condition of your integrity?
Sobre este plano
We often make a colossal error when it comes to what hurts us in life. We assume it is the mega-storms, the catastrophes, the major crises. Yet, what really destroys the vineyard of our lives are the little exceptions that we let into our character. Using the metaphor from Song of Solomon of little foxes, this devotional takes you on a 5-day journey to build your character and integrity.
