Everyday Life in Revelation: Part 4 the SealsExemplo
Now that we are moving into this portion of the book, remember Revelation is highly symbolic. It is written as prophetic literature. That means we must be careful about not reading the imagery as literal, and we must remember the time-frame is not necessarily a chronological telling of the end times.
So now we come to the breaking of the seals. More than likely these are not a series of seven consecutive events that occur within a short time frame. Today, we see two seals broken and two horses released. These riders are given a very specific job on planet Earth.
The first rider probably represents war that will regularly be occurring up to the time of Christ’s return. This is confirmed with the red horse who brings strife with its coming.
The time before Jesus returns will not be one of peace. War will be regular, and the people of God will be warred against. Do not be surprised or vexed when you see war all around the planet. These things must take place in order for the people of God to truly hunger for the Prince of Peace. At the same time let us pray for the Lord to protect His people and for violence to be restrained as much as possible.
