Building A Better Workplace CommunityExemplo
Building A Better Workplace Community - Part I
In a Harvard Business Review article, Karyn Twaronite shared some great insights about building a sense of community in the workplace from her EY Belonging Barometer study. This study concluded that when people feel like they belong at work, they’re more productive, motivated, engaged, and 3.5 times more likely to contribute to their fullest potential!
Unfortunately, their study discovered that more than 40% of those surveyed are feeling physically and emotionally isolated in the workplace. Simply put, many people in the workplace desire more connection with those with whom they work.
Genesis 2:18 says, The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone.’
Fortunately, the EY study had some practical recommendations for building a workplace community. Join us in this series to discuss their ideas.
Questions for Reflection:
1. Do you feel connected at work? Why or why not?
2. Think of a time when you didn’t feel connected at work. What role did prayer play in helping you get through that lonely time?
3. Do you think that you, personally, can impact your workplace community? Why or why not?
