FCA Rise Devotional For CompetitorsExemplo
Show Up
READY:
“Therefore, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh so that you may lead My people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.” – Exodus 3:10
SET:
A couple years ago, I encouraged my son to go to an FCA sports camp. I believed it would be a life-changing experience. But he didn’t feel like going and was enjoying his summer off. I finally convinced him to go. Later, hearing him talk about lessons learned and how he loved camp made me know it was worth it! He got up, geared up, and showed up!
Showing up is doing what God is asking you to do and fulfilling His purpose for your life. If you don’t show up, you’ll miss out. No matter how you feel – get up, gear up, and show up.
In the Bible, God spoke to Moses by name and asked him to show up on behalf of His people to confront Pharaoh. God was going to set them free and lead them to the Promised Land. All Moses had to do was show up and deliver the message; God was going to do the rest for His glory. But Moses made excuses: “I’m not good enough. It won’t work. Send anybody but me.” Finally, he obeyed and showed up. The rest is history.
Great things never come from comfort zones. God has big things planned for you. You need to step out before you find out. Take a step of faith and rely on God’s power to do the miraculous. If you don’t show up in obedience, you’ll never find out what God has in store. Remember, show up or miss out.
GO:
- Why is it important to listen to God and obey?
- Think about a time when you decided not to show up. What did you miss?
- What is God asking you to do right now?
WORKOUT:
- John 10:10
- 1 Peter 5:8
OVERTIME:
Father, thank You that You want to do the miraculous in us and through us. Help me hear Your voice and be available when You call my name! Amen.
