Come and See: An Invitation to Meet JesusExemplo

Come and See: An Invitation to Meet Jesus

Dia 2 de 5

Have you ever been afraid? Afraid of the future, the unknown, of change, or responsibility?

If you're a teen mom, maybe it was when you found out you were pregnant, or it was after delivery when your baby's whole life became your responsibility. Perhaps it was deciding to come to YoungLives, or meeting your leader or mentor for the first time.

We've all been afraid sometimes, even the most confident and content person, because life is full of difficult and challenging situations.

Do you remember being on the other side of your fear? Maybe it was when you started to figure out the whole motherhood thing as you successfully fed your baby and took care of yourself, or it was that first moment when you walked into YoungLives, and a mentor knew your name. Maybe it was during the first walk you took with your mentor. Whenever it was, do you remember the sense of relief you experienced when you moved past your fear? Isn't it such a wonderful feeling?

Jesus' friends also faced fear. When they were all on a boat sailing across a lake, they were caught in a raging storm and overcome with fear. They were all afraid except Jesus, who was sleeping. They woke him up and begged him to do something, and Jesus immediately quieted the storm. Relief and peace fell over his friends. Jesus looked at them and said, "Why are you so afraid?"

Today, no matter what fears you might be facing, Jesus says to us, "I am right here. I'm with you. I've got this."

Jesus invites us to come to him with our fears. We can trust that He is with us in every circumstance, and He will help calm the fears we feel.

REFLECTION

What fears or difficulties do you have in your life right now?

What fears are so big that you just don’t know where to go for help?

Will you stop right now and ask Jesus to be with you and to calm your fears?

Come and See: An Invitation to Meet Jesus

The best way to meet Jesus is to "come and see" how he interacted with others, how he taught, and how he lived. This week, we invite you to come and see Jesus for yourself.
