Christian Leadership

Japan has a high value for hierarchy. This can be helpful in many areas but in church communities it can often stifle personal and relational growth.

Let's agree for a spirit of humility and servant heartedness to touch Japanese Christian leaders.

WORSHIP - The Lord is the High and Lofty One!

For the high and exalted One, He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this,

“I dwell on the high and holy place, but also with the contrite and humble in spirit in order to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin].” Isaiah 57:15 (AMP)

Lord, You live forever and Your name is holy; You dwell in a high and holy place. You also dwell with those who are contrite and lowly in spirit. We praise You!

DECLARE - Jesus is Head over all things in His church.

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:22-23 (NKJV)

Lord Jesus, we declare You as head over all things in Your body, the church in Japan. The Father has placed everything in subjection to You, under Your feet.

PRAY - May Jesus’ standard for leadership define His church in Japan.

But it is not so among you; but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:43-45 (NRSV)

Lord, we pray that the leaders in the Japanese Church will not be like the leaders in the world; may they be humble servants to the Body of Christ.

PRAY4JAPAN - 17 Day Prayer Guide for Japan

Japan is the world’s second largest unreached people group even after decades of dedicated evangelism and church presence. In this highly sophisticated society most Japanese see Christianity as nice but irrelevant. Church attendance hovers around 0.3%. Let’s agree with the Word of God as we worship, declare and pray for breakthrough in this beautiful nation.
