Catch Wind Skate DevotionalExemplo
We’ve all been there before. The moment where you’re deciding to commit to an intimidating trick. Your heart is beating, you’re nervous and you got your friends in the background gassing you up saying, “Let’s GO, You got this!”
In skating you commit and you either fall or ride away. If you fall, your adrenaline starts going, and you realize it wasn’t that bad, and you try again. If you ride away it is one of the craziest feelings of commitment and accomplishment.
The commitment to GO takes faith, and the Bible is filled with stories of God asking people to GO and do something.
There is an amazing story in the Old Testament (Genesis 12: 1-9) where God calls a man named Abram out of his comfort zone. God literally told this guy to leave his home, his people, and his country behind! God said GO to this new land that I will show you.
Abram didn’t even know where this land was or what to expect, but he still decided to GO. I’m sure he had those feelings of intimidation, nervousness, and adrenaline but he still decided to commit.
Later on we find that God honored his commitment and said (Genesis 13:15-16) "All the land that you see I will give you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so if anyone could count the dust then your offspring could be counted. GO and take a look at all the land for I am giving it to you."
Faith to GO requires a little bit of fear. If there is no fear there isn’t really a need for faith. The more we decide to commit to God, the more we find that He is truly a man of His word. When He says something He always backs it up.
SO LET’S GO!
The questions for you today is: What is God calling you to GO and do? How will you respond?
Challenge: Pray to God about what He is doing in your life and ask Him for the faith to go and do what He’s calling you out to do.
