Moments for Mums: Chase Joy - Part 2Exemplo
Mothering is relentless. Moments of breakthrough quickly slip into moments of chaos. It can be easy to lament on where we are finding life hard, or when God seems far. I often need to remind my children that when they chorus, “You never let us have ice-cream”, there was the time I took them out just last week for a special ice-cream treat. It can be that way for us too, as our heart sings out “I never get a moment’s peace” or “I’m always on my own.”
Physically, this may be true, but God has revealed himself to us just as he did to the Israelites. Chasing joy means chasing his presence and reminding ourselves of the times we have known it, and share with our children our stories of who God is and what he has done for us.
Question:
When are times that you have felt God most closely? How do you remind yourself of that in the mundane?
Prayer:
God, you created me and continue to reveal yourself to me. Thank you that you are never far. May I dwell on all that you are as I chase the joy you have intended for me. Amen
