Walking With Jesus: Five Day Bible Plan With Dr Ernest CrockerExemplo
Day One: Can we have a personal relationship with the living God?
Our relationship with God should not be a dry and laborious regimented study of the historical Jesus, or of Christian ethics, but a dynamic walk through life with the living God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word," he said, "and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." (John 14:23–24). Furthermore, he said, "I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you." (John 14:16).
It is the Holy Spirit that leads us into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. From that point on, as we release ourselves to him, the Spirit speaks of what he has heard, making it known to us (John 16:15) and reminds us of everything Christ has said (John 14:26).
In my three books written over a period of ten years, I have traced the lives of an extraordinary, disparate band of people from all walks of life who have experienced God’s intervention when they chose to walk with him. They include professionals, academics, a train robber, a surgeon facing decapitation, a Christian praise and worship leader and those who have faced the ravages of war. One was saved from a firing squad. One invented the bionic ear. They walked with God in the quiet and at times of great challenge. They heard his voice.
That same opportunity is open to you. To walk through life with God not only as your Lord and Saviour but as your silent partner, your best friend.
‘A rule I have had for years’, said Dwight L. Moody, ‘is to treat the Lord Jesus Christ as a personal friend. His is not a creed, a mere doctrine, but it is He Himself we have.’
Reflect: Are you walking daily in a dynamic relationship with the living God?

Daily distraction by commitments and responsibilities, and preoccupation with worldly events weigh heavily upon us. They impose so greatly on our time and space that there is little opportunity to find respite. Yet, there is One who is willing to take our hand, and lead us through each day, if only we will let him, Jesus. This study will lead you into a daily relationship with the living God.
