God Hacks

Dia 3 de 5

The third God Hack that can be directly found within scripture would be to remember who’s in control.

It is crucial for us to remember above all else, that God is in control. He has the final say.

A common life hack that gets discussed is to plan for the future. This is good advice, but needs to be revised. Plan for the future, but remember that God is in control.

The story of Joseph’s life is an amazing example of God’s providence. I’m sure that Joseph had great plans for his future when he was growing up. He probably planned to grow up with his family and live on his father’s land in Canaan. He may have imagined himself working hard with his brothers to tend to the family’s flock and crops. Chances are, Joseph would have inherited a portion of his father’s land, get married, start a family, and then work to grow his family’s wealth.

The Lord, however, established his steps.

And those steps traversed a VERY different path.

Joseph was:

·Betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery.

·Falsely accused of attacking his master’s wife.

·Thrown into prison and forgotten for years.

·Brought out of prison to help the Pharaoh.

·Put in charge of preparing all of Egypt for a famine.

·Responsible for saving his family and all of Egypt from the same famine.

Throughout all of the adversity he faced, Joseph remained faithful and trusted that God was in control. And God’s plan led to greater blessings and prosperity than Joseph himself could have ever imagined.

It’s smart to plan for the future. It’s necessary to do so. We have to budget. We have to make decisions that can impact our future and the future of our families.

However, as Joseph’s life illustrates, we must always remember that God is ultimately in control. He has the final say in all that happens, all that has happened, and all that ever WILL happen! His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, but we know His plans are good.

Joseph discovered this God Hack. He chose above all else to give the many trials and tribulations of his life to God.

He remembered who was in control.
