Spirit, Soul & Body Part 4Exemplo
Beloved One!
Reflection
How would you express your own experience of the love of God?
How would you sum it up to yourself?
How would you put it into words?
What would you describe it to feel like?
Introspection
The New Testament scriptures take us to the story of Jesus affirmed by the Father as his beloved Son - pointing Jesus out as precious, valuable, chosen - loved by God!
What is amazing is that the term “beloved” is barely featured in the Old Testament scriptures. Yet, it becomes part and parcel of the language of the sons of God, adopted by Paul and John to convey that in Christ, we too have become beloved ones of the Father.
“What?”, you might ask. “How is that possible?”
Think about all of this we have journeyed in so far. Spirit, Soul and Body are our three components of our existence. From them we outwork the new life of Jesus through our lives. THIS is to do the work of the Lord. (1 Cor 15: 58). We are blessed in the beloved (Eph 1: 6). We are competent in godliness and full of potential because of the way we are made new in Jesus (Col. 3:12-15). The love of God for us is almost inexpressible in words and yet, one word is enough, or rather, one name is! The name “Jesus”!
He is alive in us. He has made his home in us. His Spirit fills and empowers us. His Spirit quickens our spirit to life. From today onwards, we get to live as expressions of love to our world.
Our adventure is to align our Spirit, Soul and Body to His finished work on the cross, and the new life he has given to us each and every day to the Glory of God!
Application
Take some time to pray and invite the Holy Spirit to bring to your remembrance what he has done and how much he loves you.
Let this become your life compass and take active steps to live a life fully aligned to the love, the message, and the hope of Jesus.
We pray that you continue to persevere and grow in faith, love, and hope in your Spirit, Soul and Body!
