Fast ForwardExemplo
Day 6: Flying First Class
Remember how I mentioned that I had the chance to fly first-class to Ukraine? It was a new experience. The seats, food, and service were all different from economy class, even though I was in the same airplane with the same pilot. So why was my first-class seat better than a seat by the bathroom? What made the difference?
The price! The first-class ticket costs more.
Could it be the same for the life of the Christian? Every Christian is in Christ, but not every Christian has the same experience with Him. Why? It all comes down to the price you are willing to pay. Believing in Jesus gets you on the plane to heaven, but closely following Him puts you in a first-class seat near Him, the pilot. We must live a surrendered life and grow to become disciples of Jesus.
A believer retreats to safety, but a disciple embraces suffering.
A believer reads the Word, but a disciple lives it.
There is a vacant seat in first class waiting for you; are you willing to pay the price?
Let's Pray:
God, I desire an intimate friendship with You. I need Your Holy Spirit to help me live eternity-minded. Give me the courage to pay the price, no matter the cost.
Sobre este plano
Fasting is not starvation or an involuntary absence of food; it is abstaining from food for spiritual reasons. Fasting is not a hunger strike, and it is not a diet—a diet focuses on helping you lose weight, while fasting draws you closer to God. This is a great devotional use as you fast.
