Selah: Pause and Think on ThisExemplo
Joy to the World
The world needs joy. So many people are suicidal and depressed, especially around the holidays. Somehow people convince themselves that their lives are horrible when they are actually better than the picture they have drawn for themselves. The Bible clearly gives hope that we can have joy in whatever season we are facing in life. James 1:2 says that even in the midst of all kinds of trials, we can count it all joy.
Joy is the answer to every problem, and it is an outflow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB) that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, faithfulness, kindness, gentleness, patience, goodness, and self-control. When the Holy Spirit is overflowing in your life, His fruit will be evident. If you're anything like me, seeing that list lets you know you need more of the Holy Spirit. That's OK. You can receive a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit right now. Just repent of your sins and shortcomings and let Him fill you up until you overflow.
Once your heart is right with God, do not be afraid to ask Him for what you want. If you need more joy, ask for it. John 16:24 says, "Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."
I speak fullness of joy over you right now. And I encourage you to stop worrying about the plans and plots evil people are making against you. Proverbs 10:28 says your hope brings joy, but the expectations of the wicked will perish. Every evil expectation against you will be shut down before it leaves your enemy's mind.
All of creation has your back. You shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace. The mountains the enemy has put before you shall turn and attack him and then break forth in singing. And the trees of the field shall clap for you. (See Isaiah 55:12) The Creator and all He has created is cheering for you.
I come against depression and suicide in Jesus's name. If you have sown in tears, you will reap in joy (Psalm 126:5). May you endure everything with perseverance and patience joyfully (Colossians 1:11). The joy of the Lord is your strength.
Today, declare ...
The joy of the Lord is my strength, and the peace of God goes before me. I declare that every evil expectation set against me today will be shut down in Jesus's name. No weapon formed against me will prosper. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!
