Plot TwistExemplo
If you've ever seen a movie with a major plot twist, you know there are several moments that lead up to the pivotal moment. Even when a plot twist seems like it happens out of nowhere, it doesn't take long to realize the storyteller was giving us clues all along. When Jesus was arrested and eventually sentenced to death, his disciples saw that moment as a major plot twist. They weren't prepared at all. But the truth is, Jesus had been leaving his friends clues all along — not only that he would be arrested, but that some of them would betray him in the process. Jesus knew Judas, one of his twelve disciples, would sell him out, exchanging Jesus' life for a few silver coins. Jesus also knew Peter, one of his closest friends, would deny he ever knew Jesus three times in order to protect himself. None of this surprised Jesus, but here's the truth that surprised Jesus' followers: when we, like Judas and Peter, turn away from Jesus, he doesn’t turn away from us.

In this 30-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, designed for Lent we’ll focus on how Jesus experienced “life-plot twists” and how he is with us when we go through unexpected moments in our life.
