A Shoot From the Stump of JesseExemplo
The “Shoot” Will Become a Mighty Tree
“Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.” (Isaiah 9:7)
A shoot from a tree stump is a clear sign of hope, but it is still weak and vulnerable. Almost like a newborn child. Isaiah 9 speaks of a special child who is born. He has wonderful names like “Mighty God” and “Prince of Peace." His power will continue to grow. It will be unlimited both in time (“from this time forth and forevermore) and in space. It will fill the whole earth. Not only the people of Israel will prosper under His reign, but other nations as well! Philippians 2:10 even says that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Since Jesus’ reign will be universal, there is no room for people who reject Him.
The crucial question is whether you surrender to this King, or deny His claim on your life. If you confess Jesus Christ as Lord and want Him to be King over you, you’ll experience the blessings of His Kingdom, “from this time forth and forevermore." If you reject Him, you’ll experience His judgment.
Do you surrender to Jesus Christ, the King of Kings?

God gave David a special promise. His descendants would reign over Israel forever. Biblical history shows us how God kept this promise in an amazing way, despite the unfaithfulness of David’s descendants. He sent Jesus Christ, the ultimate Son of David, who will be King forever and ever — not only over Israel, but over all the nations.
