The Gospels – MessiahExemplo
Jesus is the Messiah for all people of all ages from all nations. Not just for the Jewish people, not just for the religious people, and not just for people who keep all the rules.
We read in the Gospels about many different people groups, the Jews, the Gentiles, and the Samaritans. But who were they?
The Jewish people were the descendants of Jacob, belonging to the nation of Israel, and they were expecting a rescuer to come for them from among the Jewish people. Within the Jewish people, there were different religious groups that we hear referenced in the Gospels, like the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Teachers of the Law. The Gentiles were the non-Jewish people. They were people who did not belong to the nation of Israel - like the Roman citizens, Greek citizens, and Samaritans.
Read today’s verses and discover a time when Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman at a well. Jesus was Jewish, and in Bible times, Jewish people would never speak to Samaritan people. Jesus spent time with all kinds of people, the rich, the poor, and the sick. He spent time with people that were despised by others - tax collectors, sinners, and social outcasts. Jesus showed that God’s salvation plan was for all people – the Jews and Gentiles, people from all nations. God so loved THE WORLD, not just some people, ALL people.
