Alt Ctrl Del: Resetting Our HeartwareExemplo
God Of The Impossible
Is there anything in your life that seems impossible?
Such situations tempt us to believe that they are beyond the reach of God. It could be a sickness we have been battling for years, a difficult relationship, a wayward child, adapting to a new season of life or a sin we keep falling back to time and again.
Judah was on the brink of being destroyed by the Babylonians, yet God promised that restoration will take place in the future, through Jeremiah’s prophetic act of buying the field. To Judah, it was an impossible situation. They could not see beyond the present. Their current challenges already seemed so insurmountable.
In the last few days, we saw how Jeremiah prayed. He acknowledged God’s greatness even in his confusion and remembered how God was faithful, even when the Israelites rebelled against Him. It is interesting to note that God’s initial answer to Jeremiah came through a rhetorical question: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
Perhaps God is asking you to consider this very question today. When you look at your current circumstances, you may question how things can change and might feel cynical about the future. You may desire for a personal revival, but cannot fathom how it can happen. No matter what mountains we are facing in our lives, we need to come to a place where we choose to believe that things that seem impossible are possible for the Lord.
This is not to say that we can come to God with a laundry list of our own whims and fancies. While God can do anything, He works not to satisfy our own indulgent longings or pursuits, but ultimately to fulfil His plans and purposes. He intervenes in our life, according to His sovereignty and wisdom so that His name will be glorified.
Is anything too hard for the Lord? The answer is a resounding no. He is more than able to do what seems impossible. As you come before the Lord today, bring your impossible situation to Him, with faith that He can work all things out for your good, for His glory.
"God, remind me of Your power and glory, and let me not forget that You are more than able to accomplish Your sovereign plan in our lives."
