Dearest Daughter: Motherly Advice for Moms Who Need MotheringExemplo
Day Three: When Trials Come
Dearest Daughter,
Is life hard right now? Trials come into our lives when we least expect them, catching us off guard. Sometimes it feels like God is far away and nowhere to be found.
Take a moment right now and turn your gaze away from your trial and focus on the face of Jesus. Use your imagination and look into His eyes, filled with love for you, and find your rest. Ask Him to calm your heart. Say aloud to yourself: “Jesus is filling me with His perfect peace; His Holy Spirit is inside of me, and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Then go about your day, knowing you can return to this place of peace anytime you like. Jesus is always with you, and his peace is readily available. You are not alone, dear one.
Pray with me…
Dear Jesus, You know how hard my life has been; I feel so alone. Help me to draw near to You, knowing that You are always there. Help me to give you my burdens; You can carry them better than I can. I open my hands right now and give it all to You. I will choose to trust You in this storm. Give me the wisdom and help I need to go through this season and come out on the other side stronger than ever. I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
I love you, my sweet daughter. I’m praying for you today.
Love,
Mama Deb (your second mama)
