Know for Certain: Answers for Those Who Doubt (Vol. 1)Exemplo
Know for Certain: Can the Bible Be Trusted?
Each year, the antique industry draws many dealers and shoppers, who scour thrift stores, estate sales and garage sales looking for hidden treasures.
Antique shows on television are full of people getting their treasures appraised by experts, hoping they have priceless items worth a great deal of money. It is disappointing, therefore, to watch those who think they have long-lost items of antiquity, only to find that what they possess are merely cheap replicas of an original.
Many antiques are deemed valuable when they have a certificate of authenticity to prove their worth. The website, Law Insider, defines a certificate of authenticity as, “A written statement by an art merchant confirming, approving, or attesting to the authorship of a work of fine art.” Like the video mentions, both the Dead Sea manuscripts and the manuscripts about Jesus are like certificates of authenticity to validate the modern Bible. The Bible also claims that God, Himself, is the author who inspired human beings to write the Holy Scriptures—useful for teaching, helping and correcting us.
If you have received Jesus as your Savior, then the Holy Spirit acts as another certificate of authenticity. God’s Word is living and active in our lives. When we read the Bible, we allow God to speak to us, teach us, correct us and guide us through His Holy Spirit.
Because of an overwhelming amount of evidence, both external and internal, we can know for certain that the modern Bible is not a cheap replica of an original but is the true enduring Word of God.
