Come to the Feast!Exemplo

Come to the Feast!

Dia 7 de 7

The best is yet to come

“This light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” (2 Corinthians 4:17)

When Jesus taught the people about God’s Kingdom, His words were accompanied by signs and miracles.

The first sign that John records happened at a wedding where Jesus was present. During this feast, the wine ran out! The wedding was about to end in disappointment and embarrassment. But Jesus told the servants to fill some enormous jars with water, and when the master of the feast tasted this water, it had turned into very good wine.

Jesus saved the wedding. But this was also a sign of the eternal wedding feast that Jesus will prepare at the end of time. It was a reminder that God wants to turn our shortages and disappointments into abundant joy. And Jesus is the key person who provides everything that is necessary for the feast.

This story can help us keep in mind that the best is still to come. Maybe your present life is very pleasant. Maybe it is extremely hard. But even the most difficult circumstances are just a “light momentary affliction” compared to the “eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” awaiting us if we belong to Jesus.

Life with Jesus here and now is good. But life with Jesus on the new earth is infinitely better!

Thanks for completing this reading plan. I hope it encouraged you. Stuart Townend composed a wonderful song about this theme that’s certainly worth listening to! If you want to know more about living with Jesus, both now and in the future, please visit our website www.biblword.net
